General liability may be the only insurance you need to get a business license in Chicago, but will it cover all the scenarios you’ll encounter as a business owner? Probably not.

Tommie “TJ” Johnson of Farmers Insurance and Tara Hill of New York Life Insurance shared their expertise with business owners at an informative session July 30 at Smith Village. The two professionals covered the basics of business insurance policies and the different types you might need. These include employment practices liability insurance (EPLI), business owner’s policy (BOP), retirement & succession plans, life insurance, employee insurance, disability insurance, and more. Johnson and Hill emphasized the importance of reaching out early to determine the best insurance for your business, especially before a claim needs to be made. The two women have different insurance specialties, and both are available for local appointments.
