Is Your Business License Up to Date?

An active business license and registration as a business entity (e.g. LLC) in good standing are required to legally operate a business in Chicago. The MPBHBA has learned that there is an uptick in businesses operating in the 19th Ward without business licenses, as well as an increase in enforcement. We want to remind all businesses to check the status of their business entity and business license, and let us know if you have questions. As a Neighborhood Business Development Center (NBDC) representative with the Chicago’s Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP), the MPBHBA, as well as the alderman’s office, can assist in checking the status of your license and directing you to the correct departments with any questions we cannot answer.
