Before the South Side Irish Parade, before the river runs green, there’s only one way to kick off the season right: with a perfectly crafted Irish Coffee.
Join Western Avenue bars and restaurants for the second annual Irish Coffee Crawl on March 7–8, 2026. Eleven businesses will craft their best takes on the classic drink, and you will be the judge.
Sip your way along a 1.5-mile stretch of Western Avenue, visiting at least four stops on the crawl. Then cast your vote for the Irish Coffee that deserves to reign supreme. Whether you’re a purist who swears by a perfectly layered float of cream or an adventurer who loves a creative twist, there’s something on this crawl for every palate.
It’s the perfect way to gather your crew, have fun at local businesses, and get your St. Patrick’s celebrations started a little early.
Voting opens Saturday, March 7, and closes at 7 pm on Sunday, March 8. The winner will be announced an hour later, at 8 pm, at O’Rourke’s Office, 11064 S. Western Ave.
