The Art Institute of Chicago’s Project Windows program for 2025 has been announced! Each year, the AIC invites neighborhood businesses to participate in the annual window contest that brings customers from across the city to their businesses while also promoting the AIC’s summer exhibition.

This year’s summer exhibition is Gustave Caillebotte: Painting His World. Caillbotte was a French artist and arts supporter in the late 1800s, and while his work did not reach the public until after his death, the financial freedom he had allowed him to paint non-traditional subjects for the era: his family, sportsmen, workers, street scenes, etc. For this year’s Project Windows theme, think impressionist Paris, French cafes, urban scenes, and a focus on everyday people.

Proposals for the Choose Chicago stipends are due on May 14. They can be submitted online and stipends will be announced on May 21. Proposals for business participation in Project Windows are due to Stanley Smith by June 2.
