Countdown to Mardi Gras 2024 Business Sign-Up

Hello Business Owners, 

BAPA, the Morgan Park Beverly Hills Business Association (MPBHBA), Mt. Greenwood Community and Business Association (MGCBA) and the 95th Street Business Association have joined together to facilitate a 19th Ward small business campaign culminating on Mardi Gras (Tuesday, February 13). Back for a second year, Countdown to Mardi Gras will run Jan. 13 – Feb. 13 across the community! There are several ways to participate in this campaign that we’ve broken out into 4 categories – food, drink, window decorations, and/or activity. To engage with attendees this year, we will create and promote a voting contest for “Best of” in each category. We’d love for you to participate!

Ways to Participate:

  • Window Decorations: Decorate your business/windows with a Mardi Gras theme
  • Activity: Host a Mardi Gras themed event and/or activity 
  • Food: Offer a Mardi Gras/New Orleans themed dish, sweet treat, or other food
  • Drink: Offer a Mardi Gras/New Orleans themed beverage

Important Dates:

Early November: Businesses can begin signing up.

Dec. 1: Participation information from businesses is due

Late December: Posters & other printed materials are distributed to businesses (no passports this year). Marketing begins for Countdown to Mardi Gras.

Saturday, January 13: Countdown to Mardi Gras begins

Tuesday, February 13: Happy Fat Tuesday! Countdown to Mardi Gras ends

Participating businesses will be marketed throughout the campaign!
