In 2013, Desi Smith opened Ideal at 9725 S. Western Ave. in a building that had been empty for 13 years. She had trained under respected local broker Chuck Betts, and also was an ordained minister, former teacher, and CPS IT director. When she and her husband, Steven, felt called to build something of their own, Desi pursued that empty building with faith and determination. She prayed and anointed in front of the property as she envisioned the business she would build. It took three years to secure the deal, but with Desi’s commitment, she found an Ideal home.
